wait until people learn that Persians have brought the art of rice cookery to the next level. Chicken Biryani done right is just astoundingly flavorful. most cultures have rice and they all cook it a little (or a lot) differently.

that washes away a lot of the nutrients that are in the rice. the standard for cooking rice (and most grains) is 1:2 so if you bring that to a boil and then a low simmer the rice will absorb all the water and loose very little nutrients

it depends on how sticky you want the rice. for the most part in a western country the rice we get is bar boiled and washed, it doesn’t need washing again. unless you find it to be dusty

it depends if you are putting them in cold water and heating them or adding them to the boiling water and if you are using refrigerator eggs or fresh unwashed eggs at room temp. it also depends on you’re altitude and how hot your stove can get. but if you drop a cold egg in boiling water, 3 min

Well Actually, there are many, many different ways to cook rice. but yes go ahead I’m just being a semantic PITA. I was a chef, the number of times I have been to someones house and the don’t have a sharp knife is ridiculous. you don’t need a $800 300mm Sushi knife, and please don’t get a Ginsu.

the problem with the T is that the curved subway lines (from the initial plans) that bring you from one suburb to the other were never built. someone(who only rode the T once) decided that everyone could just use it as a hub system. Now he’s in Utah spending his Toy’s-R-Us money.
