bereaved parent (zaza to my kids before i knew it was a stoner thing). one of those blue-haired queer they/thems. writer/editor by passion, call center tech support by trade. anxious, autistic, people person personified. in blucifer’s shadow.
fun fact about badger: i used to be suicidal and i used to self harm! i have been actively Working On It since 2007. just. putting that out there. i feel as safe as anyone who’s visibly queer can in 2025 USA i suppose but just wanted this out there. 🫠 for reasons.

He was autistic, he was full of joy, he was made of love, he was a challenge to parent, he was a blessing, and I would give anything to have been able to save him.

I had an autistic kid. I had a vaccinated kid. He was one of the small percentage of people where the vaccine didn't work. We had no way to know that. He got sick with a common bacteria that he was vaccinated against. He died.

Anything is better than losing your kid and once they are gone you would do absolutely anything to bring them back. Even if it meant that they would be so profoundly disabled that you had to go into horrible debt and exhaust yourself by giving them 24/7 care for the rest of your life.

These assholes act like it is better to have a dead child than a disabled child. They act like it would be better to visit their child's grave than to raise an autistic kid. Let me tell you from personal experience. It isn't.
