Made a character sheet for our main characters, Highflight and his best friend, Snowberry. Somewhat poor editing skills aside (shout-out to Canva), these are our two long-time friends at the start of the book, who undergo their trials and tribulations together.

It was silent. The sound of birdsong was muted, like the sparrows were missing as well. Something had to be wrong with the area. “What’s wrong, Highflight?” Earlyfrost asked. “There’s something wrong about this place,” he said. He couldn’t shake his feeling of dread. It felt like something had a grasp on his crop. “Where are all the other birds?” “Maybe they just don’t know what they’re missing,” Remington said. Highflight swiveled his head left and right. “No, that can’t be it,” he said. The dread in his crop grew heavy and he tried to think despite it. He wished Snowberry was with them. She would know just what to say to help him figure out if it was worth worrying about or if he should put it to rest. “Whatever it is, it’s fine for now,” Earlyfrost said, hopping towards him and offering him another snail. Highflight accepted it, and though the taste felt dull on his tongue, it let him put his worries aside for the time being.
