There is an institutional culture in many parts of the NHS of focussing wholly on money, and just not doing credible patient impact assessments when considering any cuts to service.

Or worse, having them done and treating it as unimportant for many reasons nothing to do with patient health.
🚨 Exclusive: New leaked document proves @NHSEngland was warned a decade ago about failures in child hearing test centres across England.
Hundreds of children have been harmed, some left with lifelong problems:

NHS ignored warnings on children’s hearing tests for a decade
Health bosses in England knew about testing failures in 2014. Hundreds of babies with severe hearing problems were left without help, leading to delayed development

Newsflash @marcusbrig.bsky.social - the Chinese have built a cheap surgical robot that can be used to shell quail eggs. Maybe you and @rachelparris.bsky.social could start a crowdfunder?

It’s a real shame there isn’t some parallel from history of a British politician doing a number on HE before getting a bit too close to Silicon Valley from which he could learn…
An actual quote from the Secretary of State for Business and Trade

Too often people go to university to ‘explore research and knowledge’

Look forward to Wes S saying 'too often people go to hospital to have operations' or Heidi Alexander saying 'too often people go to the station to catch a train'

Gotta question the business acumen of an independent coffee shop that’s windows on 3 sides, has the doors open, is serving a (clearly regular) member of the public at 0858 and rebuffs the next (not regular) customer with “Nine o’clock we open.”

I was no longer the next customer.

“Due to prolonged dry weather, a hosepipe ban is starting from 22 July in your area. Please use water wisely. Details at thameswater.co.uk/water-restrictions”

Presumably this wise use is throwing a quarter of it away, putting sewage in the rest and then asking someone else pay for it?

Am I having a fever dream or was there once a time when not every item of luggage had telescopic aluminium handles long enough to allow the traveller to propel it in vaguely the same postcode, but also requiring them to stop dead at the entry to all escalators and stairwells?
