Many thanks to the 20 sites who participated in yesterday's #westmidsalldayer - 4 sites managed to break the 100 mark with Blithfield narrowly pipping Belvide to the post. I'll pull together a list of all the species seen across the sites (usually c140 species). Well done all 👏

Watched this Little Ringed Plover at Grimley CLP this evening for 80 mins as it foraged, snoozed, got woken up by a flock of starlings, and then went back to foraging. Other birds of note were Common Sandpiper, Common Snipe, Great White Egret, and male Sparrowhawk #WorcsBirds

I didn’t manage to find a Ring Ouzel in the Brecon Beacons but a different monochrome local did make an appearance. A total of five Pied Flycatchers foraging along a small river valley. I could watch them all day #PowysBirds

Monkwood was brimming with new life this afternoon. A GSW chick calling from its nest and fledgling great tits, blue tits, coal tits, and long tailed tits along the coppices. Plus what I think is a fledgling Chiffchaff #WorcsBirds

You wait all year for a Cattle Egret and then 12 come along at once! Or at least 12 I should say (and one or more in courtship colour) at Lower Test this evening. A first for me - what a bird! Great to see them appearing and then disappearing amidst the long grass #HantsBirds
