Should probably mention that this is in Gävle, Sweden. One of these days I will learn how to do social media.

The main aim of publicizing what we do outside of our little community is to teach people that it doesn't take a lot of time, money, or equipment to get started on making a difference.

It's not so bad here. We've got some of the cheapest housing prices on the main train line, and more reliable public transportation than Stockholm. Good bike infrastructure, too.

I have just found out that this is my birthday. Cool. Can't think of a better way to spend it than sharing hot food on a cold day.

As celebration, there will be muffins

Gotta love free kitchens. Here in sweden we call it Folkkök or People's Kitchen. It's amazing how little it takes to get started, and how much it can impact a community. Especially when things get tight.

Shit, I should not be in charge of social media. It's the 16th. Saturday. Sunday we plant a tree and you are all still invited for that!

Oh, I'm awful and should not be in charge of social media. It's 16 August. Saturday. The 17th is another event at the same place.

We have native Californians in Gävle?

As a NY native (too lazy to switch to his personal account), I have to invite you to come eat with us next Saturday at the home of a native Gävlan who went the other direction.

Folkkök at the Joe Hill museum in Gamla Gefle, 17 August from 13 to 15.

We also had one eaten by jackdaws. I have photos. It was pretty gnarly.

We're cooking some kind of curry today. Even got some fresh veg from our garden!
