The city of Gävle has decided to turn off the heated benches in Börsplan to try to drive away those who have been using them as refuge from the cold. They have offered no alternative. Shame on them. This decision and others like it will kill people.

Today was probably the best folkkök we have had in years. Thanks to everyone who came out! We'll be doing it again in two weeks!

I know Sweden (and especially our little town) hasn't really adopted bluesky, so asking here is almost shouting into the void, but is there any interest in Gävle for a class on Narcan (Naloxone) now that it is available over the counter?

We've received many messages of support for our little project over the last week including from some very unexpected places. While we don't seek praise or spotlight, we appreciate the encouragement.

It's going to be cold this weekend. Please think of our unhoused and undersheltered neighbors. If you can spare blankets, warm socks, hygiene products, hand warmers, or some hot food and drinks, please do so. If you need help distributing things in Gävle, contact us via our website.
