Why are billionaires praised for donating a fraction of their wealth, but workers are shamed for asking for fair wages?

Philanthropy isn’t a substitute for justice.

Pay workers what they deserve.

3 people in the U.S. own more wealth than the bottom 50% combined.

That’s 3 billionaires holding more wealth than 165 million people.

This isn’t capitalism—it’s a broken system of greed.

Trickle-down economics promised that wealth at the top would benefit everyone.

Forty years later, the rich are richer than ever, and workers are still waiting for the ‘trickle.’

Spoiler alert: it’s never coming.

Walmart workers are paid so little that taxpayers spend an estimated $6.2 billion annually on public assistance for them.

Meanwhile, the Walton family is worth over $200 billion.

Lee’s thread was quickly amplified by Elon Musk, who Donald Trump has put in charge of slashing our earned benefits.

For our time, counterpart would be 'but a dozen eggs cost so much.'
