An undergrad reading Biomedical Sciences, a massive Fernando Alonso fan, and a LibDem - no wonder I’m always in the middle of controversy!
All of his toddler tantrums about a lack of white faces and fare dodgers were clearly predating a leadership run.

He clearly has prime ministerial ambitions and I don’t think this is compatible with Farage’s monarchy in Reform. I can smell a fallout in the next year.

Would be good to see if the data points towards this as well, comparing nationalised and private TOCs. I’m not sure how to access it but if anyone has it to hand it would be great to see!

We could be promoting the railways as a more environmentally friendly, efficient and cheap way to travel, and yet extortionate fares like the above put people off.

It’s now significantly cheaper for me to drive than to take the train, which is a shame, because the train journey is pretty fun.

I’m just puzzled as to how there can be such a disparity in ticket prices (and a years difference). Rail fares did go up (not by that much) but the only other change that I am aware of was the nationalisation of SWR.

Excuse the anecdote but last year (pre-nationalisation) when booking 3 weeks in advance, a return from Exeter to a station in Greater London on the slower SWR train cost me £22 return, with my 16-25 railcard.

It now costs £55 return with a railcard, same route (admittedly a reduced timetable)

It is completely brainless to be proscribing them. There is absolutely no legal precedent nor justifiable cause.

The Home Secretary is putting a protest group in the same grouping as Al-Queda, IS and Hizballah. They’re not even remotely similar?!

This is an incredibly dangerous precedent to set.

The Net Zero sector has grown by 10.1% since 2023 and 94% of the sector is small to medium sized enterprises.

Even if we ignore Badenoch’s stupid claims on climate change, the stats say that Net Zero is good for the UK economy and future growth, with the bonus of reducing CO2 emissions - a win-win.
