An undergrad reading Biomedical Sciences, a massive Fernando Alonso fan, and a LibDem - no wonder I’m always in the middle of controversy!
I’m struggling to understand the Jenrick defection. Not because I doubt his ability to moult into a far-right, racist bigot, but for another reason.

Jenrick wants to lead the country.

Zahawi has finally shown who he really is - a shapeshifting grifter, moulding and up-hauling his entire political philosophy for his own career benefits.

The once likeable, rational, one nation conservative and vaccines minister, has joined a right wing, antivax party. What a fall from grace.

Nathan Gill’s actions a betrayal and damaging to public trust
The former leader of Reform UK in Wales has been jailed for 10-and-a-half years after he was paid £40,000 to make pro-Russian statements in the European Parliament.

Let's be clear: illegal immigrant and asylum seeker are mutually exclusive. It's literally impossible under international law, and we need to stop using them interchangably as it's blatant misinformation.

Asylum seekers are seeking safety. We should treat them with compassion, not shoo them away.

I think Kemi forgot who the prime minister was when she was appointed Trade Secretary. #ukbudget

To quote a leader of a UK political party, if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's almost certainly a duck.

I think Zarah is spot on with a number of issues, but unfortunately I can’t agree with her here.

The party can’t even hold itself together, so how can we trust them to hold our government together?

Your Party had a lot of hope but I’m afraid the novelty has work off.

Excuse my skepticism for a minute…

How is nationalisation of the railways going to reduce railway fares compared to the private model?

Obviously we know that the privatisation model didn’t work and needed urgent changes, but is public ownership the answer?

Kemi Badenoch genuinely shocks me at how terrible she is as a Tory leader. I knew she would be bad, but come on... she makes Truss look competent.

This is the same Kemi Badenoch that hacked Harriet Harman's website to say she was defecting to the Tories.

Don’t get me wrong - what Palestine Action did over the weekend was wrong. Whoever was involved and responsible should be put before the courts.

No matter what the cause, breaking into a military base and damaging RAF planes is unacceptable and puts us all at risk.

HOWEVER (and this is a big one):

This crackdown on care worker visas is crazy. We need foreign carers because providers don’t pay carers enough - there are better paying clinical jobs out there.

If the government seriously want to cut carers visas, they need to improve funding to social care, rather than bend over to Farage.

@labourlewis.bsky.social was exceptional on Politics Live. He delivered a masterclass on communication, ensuring that he picked the right words to not undermine the government whilst expressing solidarity with trans people.

Kudos Clive!

Today has been a shocking day for Earth.

The UK Anti-corruption minister resigns for allegations of… corruption.

The US SoD-designate who has alleged alcohol problem, replied to legitimate questions about his character as “anonymous smears.”

We are easily 10-20 years away from societal collapse.

We need to rejoining the EU ASAP.

Brexit has hindered our growth, it has meant that dealing with illegal migration is more difficult than ever, and a generation of students will not get the opportunity to study in Europe under Erasmus.

Can anyone name any genuine Brexit benefits?

Is anyone else in the UK extremely concerned about the direction that our politics is going in? I can’t tell if Starmer is underwhelming or if the media coverage surrounding Labour is underwhelming.

Either way, something needs to change, otherwise we’re in trouble in 2029.

I went onto the other app today and the first post that I saw was about Clive Myrie not being fit for being a news presenter because of his skin colour...

Worst of all, it had 20k likes.

Oh, how far it has gone. Thank God Bluesky exists.
