But this painting (and in fact the entire series of paintings that it's a part of) drove people MAD. They claimed the paintings were an affront to art, and in 1986 one man was so incensed by the painting that he slashed it up with a knife.

My favorite painting is "Who's Afraid of Red, Yellow and Blue III" by Barnett Newman, and it illustrates this perfectly. To claim that we can judge the painting as good or bad by its isolated objective qualities is absurd. It's just a block of red with a small blue stripe and tiny yellow stripe.

It's a very cute upcoming indie racing game with a thicc mascot, and a bunch of people got up in arms about it and tried to run a hate campaign against the game because the artist draws cub art. It was exhausting but thankfully people still seem excited for the game.
