Just brilliant in every way, Keeper continues to be a place I return to in VR.
A walking lighthouse stands amongst a sea of neon-green hand-like plants, glowing deep to bright green at their limits, illuminating a path through the golden haze of a deep cavern. Taken inside the game 'Keeper', on PC, with the UEVR mod. Deep in the subterranean ecosystems of 'Keeper', the PC version reveals stunningly tactile topography. This VR perspective captures pulsing, moss-colored organic folds cradling translucent red nodes. Observed through a Quest 3, these "shinies" appear like bioluminescent fruit ripening within a living cavern—a hauntingly beautiful testament to Lee Petty’s pure, escapist world design. A shot taken from 'Keeper', played in VR via the UEVR mod. In this shot, a multi-legged stone tower with a live-light attached on top navigates a dark, skeletal cavern. Its' lit windows and singular lantern provide a warm contrast to the surrounding gloom, highlighting the intricate, pipe-like structures and ghostly flora of this deep-earth environment.

At over 46 hours, I finally got the last Achievement in #Keeper!

Truly my #GOTY, maybe #GOAT honestly. Played on #PC, sometimes w/ #UEVR. I want more games that reward curiosity like this, too beautiful for words.

I've got 1000/1000 gamerscore, getting all achievements in the game, over 1 day, 22 hours, and 3 minutes. A vibrant, ethereal landscape filled with a cotton-cloud sorts of pink flora and fluttering butterfly-like creatures. In the center, a walking Lighthouse, half-covered in the cotton like bath suds, walks through the blossoms toward a distant, jagged mountain range. The sky is a dreamy gradients of pink and blue, with soft sunbeams filtering through the hazy atmosphere, creating a peaceful, dreamlike scene. A vibrant, Purple and Orange 'painted' canyon landscape taken from gameplay from the game 'Keeper'. It is nestled within a deep canyon of swirling, psychedelic rock formations in shades of purple, blue, and gold. The atmosphere is whimsical, with inviting light just ahead. In this game, you are the lighthouse, it has legs, and you go for a walk. Greatest game of the year, maybe of all time.

Hayao Miyazaki, in the NHK Documentary 'Never-Ending Man: Hayao Miyazaki', sums up the only important feeling I have about Al, its' encroachment upon the human creative impulse itself. After he is shown an 'Al Zombie' built to learn locomotion. He watches his team present it, his eyes well up with stark dread, deep disgust ... and he says the experiment in Al was 'an insult to life itself'. The moment ends with him saying that it made him think 'humanity is losing faith in itself'. That is it. That is all. There are shortcuts to manifest greater work creatively, and there are crutches that rely on a recycled, mass-devouring of the creative works already out there ... and I believe all people will come to recoanise that is exactly why it sounds "wrong", and has no impact or depth -- the depth was only available in the context of the original artist's heart, their life itself, that brought it all together. Just as Frankenstein's monster was an attempt to perfect humanity by delicately using the flesh of the dead, so is generative Al a monster whose creators have no idea, no sense that they are defiling the dead, removing their imprint on society; to art, to culture. They are freezing it, scrambling its' authorship and leaving us with substantially less than the sum of its' parts.

Keeper has me floored again, in awe. The world moves and reacts, patterns and detail in everything, from any angle.

The entire team deserves whatever they want for the rest of their lives as far as i'm concerned... I hope we see more of this universe (in print + other games.) #Keeper #GOTY #2025
Another shot from the game 'Keeper' played on PC. The entire game world has a very sculpted look, in the making of, there is footage of the team adding such incredible detail with the help of VR tools that make this entire world feel alive and handmade. This sequence also features the player as a wooden Pegasus-like form, its' singular lighthouse eye aflame, wings made of tattered cloth. As you move through the world, the camera captures every moment perfectly, making my screenshot folder (playing w/ Xbox controller, using the game bar and button to capture while playing). The land is etched with right-angle geometry that contrasts with a natural, high-altitude setting where snow, ice and a purple to pink uv light is cast over the place. At this moment it is the greatest digital artwork i've experienced, with a gorgeously atmospheric soundtrack and sound design that all feels both familiar and incredibly unique. If we made a satellite again, with the objective of putting evidence of our heart, our accomplishments and perspective for other life in the universe, I nominate this game to be the ambassador of humanity, of life on Earth. In this sequence the game feels like a combination of a skateboarding game and the greatest fantasy universe i've ever played. The whole world pulses, again in brilliant blues, purples and reds. On the walls throbbing balloon-like bulbs writhe in time with the sounds. A combination of synapse-like vines with swollen cores that react to a burning, bright electric beam. The entire game is a work of art, the greatest escape. My final shot from 'Keeper' by Double Fine Productions. Played on PC. This sequence is like a wild, spore-formed skatepark, with spongy, naturally decayed 'pools' that you roll around in. I spent about an hour just in this large room tonight, moving and taking screenshots. I have no regrets.

It extends a truly rare vein of surrealism, unmatched. Play this game! Leave this plane of existence for a while! Big fun!

Transformed completely in one of several hours-long themes where you solve atmospheric puzzles, bathe in sound that amplifies the emotional resonance and essentially take a walk, the shot is one moment where I fell into an intense, wild-eyed trance, never stuck, but never fully sure of exactly what to do either, it's a very heady effect. GOTY 2025. Greatest digital art experience of my life.

had my Shih Tzu Lucy at my mom's for the last 2 days. I arrived and found her waiting for me in a comfy couch fort <3

Games this beautiful should reach everybody.
A brightly colored landscape, with the camera between two large trees that were bound by a purple cord before Twig, our bird companion in the game 'Keeper', unties and lets us through. This game is a wordless narrative, taking place on Earth, but sometime after humans have gone extinct. It is playable in Virtual Reality with a mod, but regardless of projection medium (I like VR because it puts me inside the game world completely), this game is a nonstop feast for the eyes and ears. Every moment is worth a capture. I've been making wallpapers for my pc and phone. None of these shots have any further processing outside the game, but some were cropped a bit. Another shot from 'Keeper', showing a friendly tree buddy that is missing his eyes. Getting them back is one of the things you ought to do to get to the next area (but I always take my time in this game, appreciation the craftsmanship and pure artistic expression on display). This shot is a close up, Highlighting your bird-friend 'Twig', as both the lighthouse's 'face' (i.e. its' light) looks out of a very red set of vertical pillars, showing signs of decay that suggest an old prison of sorts. I was very moved throughout. Game available on PC (captured in VR on PC), as well as on Xbox, and streamable through Geforce Now. I hope it comes to every platform, games this beautiful -- that carry their themes this well -- should reach everybody that wants it!

Perfect execution, SCULPTED in #VR with @adobe.com's Substance 3D during the pandemic, this is this generation's 'Journey' or 'Fantasia', soaked in synaesthetic moments.
One of an endlessly picturesque and living moments inside the PC version of 'Keeper', a wordless narrative where you are a Lighthouse, post-humanity. You and your bird buddy 'Twig' go for an instantly engaging walk. Can't recommend this game enough. Very inspirational to see such mastery in scenes that would need to be completely pre-rendered anywhere else.

I'm a sucker for a light at the end of a tunnel. Wish everybody had a Steam Frame, I want to release an album as a VR installation. Something where the witness matters, maybe a set of luxurious thick reverb sponges that you can hold up and change the album.

Continued love & astonishment playing @doublefine.com 's #Keeper this week. Had a visit by some little green buddies that shot red berries out of their shirt pocket in a dream. It was just me walking to the kitchen, and there they were, doing their little buddy thing.

Back playing #Keeper in #VR tonight - showing a few friends how moving it is when you're right inside this space. You can tell every bit was sculpted with love.

It's not exactly like claymation (moves much smoother, like a Pixar movie you control), and it's as thrilling as any theme park 💜

descriptive text - This is a very angular, cubic sort of orange bursting rocks, hidden inside a wall within the PC game 'Keeper'. The perspective is courtesy of a game mod called 'UEVR', which allows many Unreal Engine games to run in full stereo 3D in virtual reality. It is a head trip that such beauty is just sitting behind a wall, in a game where you are a lighthouse that comes to life, and takes a journey with a tiny bird buddy. Fine digital art and a real example of unbound talent. 'Keeper' is a game by Double Fine Productions, released October 17, 2025 on PC and Xbox Series consoles. I am playing the game in Virtual Reality, so being INSIDE this space is constantly overwhelmingly beautiful, every second is worth a thousand captures, none of it seems to find the 'ends' of the game world like many games reveal themselves to be elaborate dioramas, but not this one. It hits the same notes as the greatest Pixar films, a wordless, psychedelic narrative of transformation, and shining a light. Born during the pandemic by Lee Petty, this might be the prettiest game I've ever had the honor of playing. In this shot is another hidden masterpiece, just part of a wall that vanishes when the living lighthouse (that the player controls in the game) shines its' light on it. Played November 4, 2025. 'Keeper' is a game available now on PC and Xbox Series consoles. This shot is of the Lighthouse that the player controls in 'Keeper'. It has all of these beautiful sorts of shrines, perhaps to the people before. The game is post-human, but life seems to have gone on in amazing ways, and every minute of the game reveals such unbridled creativity and craftsmanship. The kind of videogame that feels like the finest art, the brightest example of what people can create! Throughout the game, you walk the lighthouse around with one analog stick (played on an xbox controller), and control the light itself on the top of it with the other stick. The world transforms and reacts constantly, creating a psychedelic sensory overload that beats any theme park ride i've ever been on. A dramatic close up of part of tonight's session, i started by creating the universe so i could make an apple pie. Lots of abstract forms, with lots of easily-accessible humanizing tools under the header 'jitter'. Basically makes your hands wiggle in weird ways, so blasting out shapes was a lot like a fireworks show, made very easily with vr controllers, painting in the air. Big fan of the polygon/hull tools and just learning the 'camera paths' tool. The plan is to make a video later this week, I made one tonight, but can do better. These shots also have a bit too much blur for my tastes (looks good in motion tho). Another still from tonight's art session, I made 6 sculptures in one big explosion of novelty. In the center of this shot, there's a red, black and gold little knotted up hive that looks incredible up close. The best part about creating in space is all the perspectives you can paint from, and then walk around them. Just satisfying, lines on paper does similar for me too. This segment, where the scene zooms through the center was inspired by cgi from old heartburn medicine commercials and Trapper Keeper art. It looks kinda messy in still shots, hopefully a video will help it stand out more. I'm also colorblind, can you tell? A close up of the beginning of tonight's session. Concentric waves (of my arms in front of me), no thoughts. Like looking at the sky, let the brain do its' thing, let the feedback loop guide me.

A shrine that I wandered into while playing 'Keeper', there are many of these hidden throughout the game. I haven't beaten it yet and restarted 4 times because I realized how much I missed initially. In this shot, You approach a massive skepeton sitting upon the shore, a massive blue and white cloudy sky with a few impossibly tall mountains frame the center - all of these shots are done right during gameplay, inside VR, I take the shots with a voice command and only crop them if anything before posting here. The game 'Keeper' is available now for PC and several Xboxes.

I've been playing it in #VR via #UEVR, and being inside the world so lovingly created, where I can walk up to any bit just to see it -- it looks like a live painting, words fail... the effect is stronger than some hallucinogens -- A work of art on the scale of a Ghibli or Pixar movie.
