Last four logged: Bob Hoskins is an open fucking nerve. Coogler came here to party. Zemeckis in his EC comics era. Rutger Hauer's a real bad dude, but Stallone has a sick-ass beard.

Last four: once you see South London in the 1980s, you'll never stop wanting to strangle Margaret Thatcher to death with your bare hands. Two shorts and an all-timer feature from Leo McCarey.
November 13, 2025 at 12:13 AM
Last four logged: middling sci-fi freakout. One of Hitch's most light-hearted. Video game aesthetics cripple two of the most charismatic performers of our time. Garland and Mendoza weaponize cinema as art therapy.

And away we fuckin go

Been a minute, but here's another four from April: Tim Story's F4 cannot be reclaimed. Daniel-san does Japan and narrowly edges out the first thanks to the nostalgia factor. How can you not be romantic about Ivan Reitman's swan song? Landon goes De Palma

Last four logged: Siegel goes Leone. I guess this is growing up, but with the internet. I guess this is growing up, but with bees. Ham, eggs, and coffee: the American fuckin dream

Get a load of this four! Upsetting, paranoia fueled Friedkin freakout. Lumet at his schmaltziest. First Blood, made for TV canuxploitation style. Everything Shirley MacLaine wears belongs in a fucking museum.
August 1, 2025 at 4:28 AM
Last four logged: Iconic (but not my favorite) Schrader with an all-timer Blondie track and Moroder score. Pryor works through some capital-S STUFF. A WORKING MAN could learn a thing or two from THE BEEKEEPER. Chaos Reigns.
July 26, 2025 at 1:22 AM
A new four: Scorsese talking about the works of Powell and Pressburger is magical. Bowie in your internment camp is enough to drive anybody at least a little crazy. Ultra-goofy, sort of lifeless DTV-ass action. Repugnant, watchable trash from Kathryn Bigelow and Eric Red.
July 19, 2025 at 8:00 AM
Next four! Are you an Andre or a Wally? 90s era prestige Miramax is greater than it's reputation. Raimi's nadir is saved by thrilling baseball action. Post-COVID New York Gay disaster cinema.
July 18, 2025 at 2:45 AM
Yet another four logged: Tarkovsky should only be viewed through a hole in a sheet. It's impossible for Soderbergh to -not- be sexy. Baseball is the greatest game ever invented. Spike is Spike and that's alright
July 16, 2025 at 5:25 AM
Still playing catch up, but here's another four logged: goofy fun sci-fi from Charles Band. One of Hitchcock's best. Todd Haynes goes full Sirk. My own personal second favorite Bong.
June 30, 2025 at 3:29 AM
Another four! Regional slasher screened in 3D on 35mm. Harry Callahan meets Ms. 45. Raimi goes gothic. The lesser Crowe exorcism flick.
June 20, 2025 at 5:20 AM
Another four logged: Andreotti biopic by way of toff guy cinema. Lithgow makes a meal out of small scale kiwi horror. Vicky Krieps is fantastic in a movie that is decidedly not. Kevin Smith is still incapable of making digital look good.
June 19, 2025 at 5:26 AM
Last four logged: extremely late aughts remake of a sci-fi classic. Malick's best since Tree of Life. Solid Troubles-era thriller. Bong's Big Blank Check.
June 15, 2025 at 5:24 AM
Another four! Prestige trainwreck. Smoke gets in your eyes. UPN-ass DTV cinema. Phillip Noyce's oddball Zatoichi curio.
June 9, 2025 at 6:17 AM
A New four! The Phantom Cam really makes Jackass stunts pop. Knoxville was rubbing horse cum on his face for weeks. A tight procedural thriller is undone by its apolitical cowardice. Dogshit movie kinda saved by, against all odds, Ariana fucking Grande.
May 31, 2025 at 2:11 AM
Radu Jude's Romanian satire has been disturbingly close to American satire this whole time. Kurosawa's epic revision of King Lear. Caine's last truly great role. IP bankruptcy.
May 27, 2025 at 5:30 AM
Another four: Arnold Vosloo is no Liam Neeson. "What if a woman was -too- hot?", Paolo Sorrentino dares to ask. Lower-tier Jackass b-sides. Vulgar Auteurist Rod Armateau.
May 26, 2025 at 5:12 AM
Last four logged: classic Neil Simon! Early Safdies! Bonkers Craven! Wash your car, paint your house, paint your fence!
