#1 Digimon Story: Time Stranger
I loved the Cyber Sleuth games to death, and this game surpassed them in almost every way. Story, graphics, gameplay, number of digimon available. The most fun I've had with a monster catching RPG in decades. Pokemon, take notes.

#2 Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
Way too much to say about this game, suffice to say I waited 18 years for this, some of it lives up to expectations, some exceeds, some sadly does not. But the fact it exists at all, and looks THIS GOOD, will never not he staggering. Now for Prime 5

#4 Donkey Kong Bananza
Way outpaced my expectations, it's great to have a new 3D DK game after so long. Terrain destruction never gets old, it just keeps adding cool new levels and the final boss was insanely satisfying.

#5 - Doom The Dark Ages
While it didn't quite reach the heights of Doom Eternal for me, its hectic gun gameplay, shield mechanics, large open areas and challenging boss battles still won me over in a big way. Waiting eagerly for that DLC

Also trying to limit myself to 5 game purchases this year to reduce my backlog but depending on Switch 2 that might be impossible

If I read Discworld slowly enough I can still pretend there's more coming. GNU Terry Pratchett....
Book was great; it's a fan favourite for a reason. Witty, funny, great characters - didn't make any money reading it though; missed opportunity

Three favourite games of all time, plus a timesink I can't not include given my playtimes over 400 hours

Haven't played an AC since Black Flag in 2019. Love Egypt as a setting, Bayak is a compellingcharacter - story has some pacing issues at the end but still enjoyable. Resisting 100%ing it because good lord it's a big map

Been on the to-read read list for ages, the world is dark and depressing, it's view of humanity is bleak. Can be a slog to get through, but portrays the mental struggles and hallucinations felt by the main character in a gripping way.
