Kokoomateos sisältää filosofisia esseitä analyyttisen filosofian kolmesta keskeisestä aiheesta: todellisuuden, kielen ja totuuden luonteesta. Lisäksi teos tuo esiin uutta filosofista pohdintaa filosofian perusluonteesta. Teos on omistettu Tampereen yliopiston filosofian professori Panu Raatikaiselle, joka on tuotannossaan käsitellyt edellä mainittuja teemoja ja jolta monet kirjoittajista ovat saaneet oppia ja inspiraatiota. Kokoelma kerää yhteen kirjoituksia merkittäviltä filosofeilta, jotka ovat kohdanneet Raatikaisen erilaisissa akateemisissa yhteyksissä, sekä hänen entisiltä ja nykyisiltä kollegoiltaan. Artikkeleissa käydään kriittistä, rakentavaa vuoropuhelua Raatikaisen keskeisten ajatusten ja argumenttien kanssa.
