Yes, it is. Since our culture is one acquainted with literacy, illiteracy or stunted capacity renders people susceptible to suasion in ways they would otherwise not be.

Yes, it’s called a parasympathetic response, and we are hardwired to do it. Also it gives us a shot of dopamine. Here’s the thing: doing, receiving, or simply witnessing an act of kindness boosts your serotonin, and (I think, but I’d have to check my source) suppresses cortisol.

They don’t want to teach history because they’ll have to show where they got their ideas and how poorly those ideas fared when transformed into policy. Also, their heroes lost that war.
