In my late teens and early 20s I had entered an extended period of rock-bottom depression, not unlike what I imagine Wile E. Coyote to have experienced each time he lay at the bottom of a cliff after plummeting hundreds of feet down after having been thwarted by the Roadrunner yet again.

I used to try to write, to be a “writer”, but the constant pounding away on a keyboard trying obsessively, some might say psychotically, to express my ideas and experiences drove me a bit insane. I became… unbalanced. Eventually, I gave it up. Now, near the end, I feel the need to try again.

Just who the fuck is everybody here talking to? It’s all about as useful as yelling shit out your car windows as you drive down the highway. At least half of the people are saying the same goddamn things, even using the same words. Dumbest thing of all: why am I reading it?

Back when I used to work in a sea of cubicles surrounded by simple-minded Christian hausfraus the cognitive dissonance I overheard every day almost drove me insane so I developed a psychic defense mantra: “I don’t believe that people really believe what they believe they believe.” Still holds true.

My theory is treat it not like one big snow but several smaller ones. I estimate it’s accumulating 1 inch per minute so I shovel the walk every six hours. Also, I tarped a grassy area for a dog terlit, pull it back & let her out. Takes 20 minutes. It’s called having a SYSTEM, people!

Does anyone know of a website, a particular scholar or group of scholars, organization, or some other entity that has cataloged every violation of the U.S. Constitution committed by the current as well as previous administrations?

The electoral college is exactly as stupid of an idea as the trinity.

In the absence of evidence to the contrary (a complete and unredacted version of the files), it is logical to assume that every redaction hides a photo or mention of Trump. The amount of redaction = the amount of Trump in the files. This is undeniable fact until the contrary evidence is produced.

I will never do a podcast (because it’s work) but if I did, it would be called “Speculating on a Hypothesis” and I’d use a sound clip in the intro of the police chief in Millers Crossing, where he says “I was just speculatin’ on a hypothesis. I didn’t mean nothin’ by it.”

Can folks do me a favor?

I was on Bluesky early & it was great. Mostly. I hit the eject button in January.

I came back, many colleagues are here, but still don’t know I am.

I co-created Halt and Catch Fire. I write TV & comics.

Here’s two favorite set photos.

Repost? I am in the wilderness.

Okay, another confession, though you really don’t need to “confess” anything when you’re absolutely RIGHT, as I am: The Roger Moore Bond films would have all been MUCH better had George Lazenby stuck with the role. OHMSS showed great promise but it’s not as good as its contrarian weirdo fans think.

For some reason, I have the urge to “confess” that one of my regrets in life, though it’s not a big regret, is that when The Band got back together years after The Last Waltz, sans Robbie Robertson, I pretty much discounted them. I owed them more respect and appreciation than that.

Who are America’s non-voters, where are they and what, if anything, are they thinking now? Rhetorical question, but now is the time for anyone who wishes to frame themselves as any kind of leader to get serious about addressing them directly, aggressively. Surely they’re not all illiterate hermits.
