It’s good to overperform expected points in the moment as it’s good for our current results, but we need to improve our underlying performances regardless, or the expected results that our performance warrants will look spooky

Since then we've got VDV, Romero, Porro (in terms of significant outlays) and all have been great, that surely can't be the reason (not to mention the other guys like Sarr/Udogie/Danso/Vic)

No one had a clue on our only new signing of the summer, feel like the Mbeumo links were mainly just put up because Frank was joining us and he's a prominent player from one of the mid-table PL clubs who's likely to transfer

Takai turns 21 in September, for what it's worth
June 24, 2025 at 1:42 PM
Yeah, probably

We also have a bunch of guys who can play out on the left to cover Eze when he needs to play the 10 in case of a Maddison injury, so that should not be an issue either
June 24, 2025 at 10:24 AM
I think a hybrid makes more sense for a few reasons, since we can afford a high quality player who can start alongside Maddison while being able to cover him, and I don't trust Deki too much as a 10 because I feel like he lacks certain qualities and fits better inverting from the right-hand side

Brentford above Spurs on the list, hope people don’t accuse Frank of causing injuries as well if something stupid happens next season too
June 12, 2025 at 8:28 AM
Think that's one of the issues with manager turnover, it's hard to tell which players might fit into this category due to the system changing. This is compounded when you have 'adaptable' managers who theoretically could use these players depending on system, and might need a season to gauge them.

His xG + xA in 24-25 per 90 was up there amongst his best years, the only difference was not over performing his xG like usual (when was the last time we’ve seen one of his classic curlers from outside the box)? If he goes back to his norm in that regard, then he could explode again

Lange seems to be the main guy in charge of transfers, with Paratici coming back to support him now (plan seems to be for them to work together)
June 10, 2025 at 11:19 AM
I respect the grind without paying for a blue checkmark to be honest
June 10, 2025 at 10:28 AM
Don't think so, Mourinho's rep was on a different level before he even came to us as one of the elite managers on level w/ Guardiola, Ange wasn't that well-known since Celtic was the biggest club he was at. It might only seem similar because of what Ange has accomplished + Levy spotlight
June 10, 2025 at 10:16 AM
Would there be an appointment that wouldn't be risky? Looking forward to Frank's tenure, my concerns over the football operations department have abated a bit after reading bits of the Telegraph article (wrt Lange and Paratici working together), so hope we can have a strong summer window like 23/24

Victor Froholdt

Here we go, Fabrizio's catchphrase for when a deal is done
June 9, 2025 at 7:09 PM
When I think of good signings w/ experience, for Spurs at least we should be going for the Solanke/Maddison/Vicario types who are around 25/26 when we sign them, and have a good trajectory before joining us.
June 9, 2025 at 5:52 PM
I think Grealish could be a good signing, but would prefer signings players who have an upwards trajectory, and in terms of players cast-out by bigger clubs, younger as well (Deki/Bentancur as examples).
June 9, 2025 at 5:43 PM
I would think we still need a top 6 for helping our ball progression, feel like I've seen Maddison drop deep too many times to assist in build-up, and having a 6 take up that duty would allow him to take up advanced positions more often (and would help Solanke too). Bergvall can't be the only guy
June 8, 2025 at 11:56 AM
Feel like I'd be too worried about that toppling off the cup to enjoy it
June 8, 2025 at 1:46 AM
Yeah
June 7, 2025 at 9:21 PM
Think Victor Froholdt is likeliest to be our first signing of the summer (not counting Tel/Danso)
June 7, 2025 at 9:09 PM
We have limited registration spots for Europe and home-grown doesn't really matter anymore unless they're club-trained, so don't think Gomes made much sense for us, we should be aiming for better quality for the one experienced midfielder we'll likely buy
