Oh sweet jesus the UK council elections are making me sweat behind the knees.
Not what I was expecting. It should have been given the state of the world today, but an unwelcome surprise.

This morning was the fun dance I get to play every now and then (i.e whenever I have to vote) of explaining that I have no ID in my married name so the name on the register doesn't match my licence/passport 🙈
Luckily I've not been refused yet!

There is pretty much nothing in the world that can make me as happy as a dinner made entirely of beige food.

This week on the blog I have re-vamped a VERY old blog post. Originally written in 2013, edited in 2019, and once again in 2025:

It's never about the science. It's always about having a legal basis for your fear and hatred of other people.
My husband has taught human reproduction and development to the Cambridge medics for over three decades. When people start banging on about "only two biological sexes" he starts with "which sex: genetic, hormonal, or gonadal"?

Biological sex is not binary. www.scientificamerican.com/article/sex-...
Sex Redefined: The Idea of 2 Sexes Is Overly Simplistic
Biologists now think there is a larger spectrum than just binary female and male

She had finally had enough of 'the apps' - always #marketing her ideal self, but never able to really connect with the other person. She wanted a true and meaningful relationship with someone, and it was clear that she wouldn't find it here. #vss365

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

Okay I definitely have an addiction to insulated reusable mugs and bottles - we do not have enough cupboard space for the ones I already own, I do not need any more!!!!

It was time for it to #end. This had gone on for too long already. The lies, the violence, the never ending stream of questions without answers. She didn't want to admit it but she just couldn't do it anymore. #vss365

This week I've revisited one of my older posts, some simple grounding techniques you can use to get through panic attacks. Are there any you'd add to this list?

It was #beginning to look like things were never going to change. Years from now she would still be stuck in the same dead end job, eating the same own brand meals, living in the same cold, crappy appartment. Little did she know that 'change' was about to plummet into her lap. #vss365

As a writer it's really hard not to get down on viewer stats. That's part of why I stopped blogging years ago, it was stressfull.
But now, no I'm not getting hundreds of thousands of views daily, but at least 10 people that I don't know find my site and read my stuff, every day. That's pretty cool!
