Death to the demoness Allegra Geller!
When I was a kid in the eighties, this was easily the most boring Christmas song ever. I absolutely hated it.

I'm now 45, and it's one of my favourites. Beautiful song. The moral is that kids are dicks, I guess?

The readiness and eagerness of US police to shoot people is fucking scary. I'm in the UK, where most police don't have firearms, and thank fuck for that.

I once had to go back into a restaurant because my wife left her hat in there. I tried asking for it in French, but it turned out I'd asked if they had my wife's horse.

People were generally nice when I tried, though.

It told the story of those 18 minutes, which is what I think it set out to do. Out of curiosity, how would you have ended it?
November 29, 2025 at 7:46 PM
I don't really agree with this. The movie doesn't really promise anything, in my opinion. Someone fired at the US, and they fired back (or maybe not, but I got the impression they did). What happens next? That's the big question and they (the film makers) don't try to answer it, because they can't.
November 28, 2025 at 8:42 PM
after the event while they work out what happened? 5 mins? 10? I think it would have broken the premise. I think it did its job well, but I'm happy to disagree. I think it was the only ending they could have done, personally.

I'm not so sure it would be immediately obvious to everyone. The film doesn't allow for minutes or hours afterwards, and in real life it wouldn't be an instant confirmation of a nuclear explosion. But whether that's correct or not, how long do we want the film (in film time) to carry on

I'm not crying, I'm just having a moment.

scenario set up by the film. Uncertainty. Millions dead, and all you have at the time is uncertainty. And the ending is the embodiment of that.

they have done at the end? Shown the explosion, maybe. But they couldn't show the aftermath and impact of that at the end and stuck to the premise of the film. They couldn't just drop in a thing at the end that said "by the way, it was North Korea". I think this is how it would go, in the

Saw this post earlier today but didn't reply at the time, but have been thinking about it since. I honestly don't know what other ending would have been satisfying. It takes place over 18 minutes, and it's established throughout that they don't know where the launch came from. What could
