I missed out on nabbing this John Watkiss/Steve Mitchell Batman page (No tears. I own a better one, TBH). More evidence that comics let an artist who could have been a Batman legend get away.

I know who I wish had been there.

Various commissions from yesterday's GI Joe convention in Des Moines. Some familiar faces, but mostly a new audience for my work. Fun times with Ron Wagner. Plus, I randomly ran into my brother at an EMT convention on another level of the facility.

And here's the straw Koi spun into gold.

I did manage to snag this gorgeous Koi Pham Teen Titans penciled page. I thumbnailed it for DC way back when. I guess I prefer to see my storytelling handled by a better artist!

Found this buried in my collection the other day. I just think it's neat.

Cruising through my recent dollar box Charlton haul and found a piece of art I own! I always thought this Pete Morisi Mr. Bones piece was a lettercol header or ad piece, but it was the splash of Ghost Manor #3! Fun to finally know its publication history.

My pal is selling off some stuff because... USA. Among them is this awesome Sakai commission!

Ol' @therightram.bsky.social spoiled it at the bad place, so have a peek. We dragged poor @andeparks.bsky.social out of ink-retirement to do a little New Gods vignette. Orion & Young Scott Free!

This gorgeous Mac Raboy Captain Marvel Jr. cover inadvertently captures how absolutely terrifying it would be for a sailor to watch a beautiful child-angel drop from the sky and send you to the bottom of the ocean.

Check out what can be accomplished by changing the size of the protagonist's figure throughout the page. Makes time changes less dependent on panel borders, creates depth that defies the flat plane of the page, & makes a talking heads page into a journey. Superb acting, also. Garcia-Lopez & Janson.

You know us country boys had to set it in the Midwest. A little river town tears itself apart awaiting the inevitable arrival of the mysterious creatures.

I know Keif Fromm left a mixed legacy in the art collecting world, but receiving his estate auction catalogue in the mail is quite sobering. We had many conversations about original art, and he went out of his way to show me legendary pieces like the one pictured in person. RIP

No shade for The Toddfather, but one of these covers is going for over a half million dollars right now, and the other (one of the greatest comic book covers of all time) is going for one tenth that.

Make an effort to find this book. It's the best of both artists. TVE's unfettered layouts, Nino's most spider-webby rendering.

Y'all know this is one of my favorite jobs of the 80's, but I just couldn't bring myself to drop over $1K on a page from such an obscure book. This art market is bonkers.
