Comic book maker.
As a reader, I took Sal for granted. As an art collector, I took him for granted thinking, "I'll score one page. Grab another later." Then his prices deservedly skyrocketed. A stalwart of my childhood imagination. He and Gil Kane stood toe-to-toe for best punched out guys flying into the foreground.

It ain't a Hester horror comic unless the first 75% scares you, and the last 25% makes you cry.

Hey, buddies. Thanks to all who bid, retweeted, donated, etc. during my brother's fundraiser. I'm fixing to delete those original posts since the auction has ended and so the volunteer organizer won't have to field anymore questions. Thanks again!

There's no such thing as aspiring comics creators, just comics creators.
What advice would you give an aspiring comic creator? - 🦝

No surprise that ATK's shrimp cocktail recipe is money. I did cut the sodium by roughly 80%, though (HBP).

Listen, man. You ain’t gotta buy our comic. But do something besides telling people to unfriend you on Facebook.

The streets aren’t for everyone and that’s okay. But help support those in the streets and folks who are getting snatched up.

Again, there are plenty of places to put some resources.

A major original art auction site has multiple misattributions this week that I pray remain uncorrected until such time as I can yoink out some treasures on the cheap.

Advance review 🚨
A Quiet Place: Storm Warning is a tense issue that asks what happens when people know the monsters are coming, and still don’t listen. Strong characters, smart setup, and a killer closing sequence. @philhester.bsky.social @idwpublishing.com
Read @davidbrooke.bsky.social's review:
‘A Quiet Place: Storm Warning’ #1 delivers a new angle on the franchise
Knowing the monsters are coming doesn’t make survival easier—it just makes the consequences of ignoring the warning far more terrifying.

Real world people (not you comics people, you aren't real) are starting to ask me when I'll retire, and I get secretly sore at them. I know it's pathological, but I feel like I haven't started yet. Deep inside I'm still that dopey kid sending Iron Man samples to Jim Shooter.

I was about to brag to my wife about knowing @jerhaun.bsky.social & Hurley from way back as an ad for The Beauty popped up on TV, but remembered when I did the same about GDT while seated for Frankenstein and she hit me with her classic, "Wow. What happened to you?"

This is a good thread for learning about GREAT comic book costumes.
What’s a comic book costume you know is terrible but you love it anyways?

When I see this image, I recall how I read this edition of Steranko's History of Comics to such tatters that the school librarian gave it away to a kid in the class behind me. He was my D&D DM, so I had to see this torn out page hung on the wall of his Stranger Things-style basement lair. Jealousy!

You all know how much I love Frank Robbins, but seeing this issue of Daredevil knowing Frank Miller arrives a mere three issues later has the same vibe as Logan's Run and Star Wars being released less than a year apart.
