Amid the dumpster fire that is the world right now, it was lovely to wake up to this acceptance from @poetrysouth.bsky.social. 🥳❤️

As @maggiesmithpoet.bsky.social says, "The world is at least fifty percent terrible, and that's a conservative estimate," but I have some joyous news: My second book of poems, "Beloved Marrow," is now done, and it'll hopefully find a good home soon (poets, am all ears on your favorite presses!).

I'm so truly honored to have a new poem out in the latest issue of the Sierra Nevada Review. Since I was a kid I've been fascinated by astronomy. We're specs and yet we are also each so very rare and precious. Many thanks to very helpful edits from @patrycjasara.bsky.social and Swati Sudarsan!

Sitting with my dog and watching the gorgeous movie, "Flow," and there's something so perfect and tranquil about that. Truly a beautiful film.

Super thrilled that one my favorite poems I've written in the past two years - if my not my favorite - has been accepted for publication in the Sierra Nevada Review! Can't wait to share it with you all soon! 🥳

I just submitted information to get an estimate from a stuffed animal hospital (yes, the exist!) for Lamby, who I've had for 37 years. He has a rip on his face and could use a good cleaning.

It's amazing how much these things can stop being "things" and become something much more precious. 🥹🐑🧸

We got a robot vacuum/mop and our animals were simultaneously enraged and curious. The dog barked quite a lot when it started up for the first time. The cats saw it first as a toy and then as a menace to be avoided. Is this common?? Thoughts?

As a Jew, I love celebrating Christmas with my wife in a secular manner. Got a tree this weekend and just finished decorating. I love doing this.

We have a giant hot plate that we use once a year (today). But on Thanksgiving, it's the MVP of the day. (OK, who am I kidding? The oven is the MVP of the day. But we let the hot plate think it's really kicking ass.)

Everyone check in. For me, I'm a solid 7. Intense, strong and focused but also close to developing an eye twitch.

For the past 26 months I've been working on my second book of poems. The book is about two people who meet, fall in love, and start building a life, only for one of them to die far too young from cancer. And it's about what happens after that, and all that loss stirs up.

I'm so thrilled to be able to share my latest poem, "When I Think About There Ever Being Someone Else," published in @atlreview.bsky.social! I took inspiration from Vievee Francis's "I've Been Thinking about Love Again." This is from my book I'm finishjng. Another rom-com special for y'all! 😉🐺🐺❄️🫀❤️‍🔥

This is my tattoo (one and only for now). It's based on two things. The line from Whitman, "I believe a leaf of grass is no less than the journey-work of the stars," and the concept popularized by Sagan that the atoms on Earth came from the remnants of an exploding star. We are made of starstuff. 🌿🌌

My favorite thing I've published in the past few years. It's the first poem I wrote in what has now become my second book (very close to being done with a first draft!). Published in August 2023 in @atticusreview.bsky.social. All praise to @alinaetc.bsky.social for a prompt that led to this poem 🙏🏻🥳❤️
