Although much of that was an equal and opposite reaction to an 00s era when DC comics in general were stuck in a rut of writers thinking "grown-up storytelling" meant "villains commit truly horrifying atrocity after truly horrifying atrocity with the heroes never managing to stop them"

Ironic it's in Prospect, since Prospect's founding editor was one of the key figures in creating UK reactionary centrism, and "reasonable concerns" legitimising of racism and nativism.

Is this another of those cases where they deliberately put low bridges on a road because they didn't want buses going to their "nice" area, because black people might use them?
