On a mission to visit every pub in Sheffield, from A to B. I also like trains.
I don't understand how this argument became a dunk on Labour??

I can't remotely make sense of this article

Literally mentions the legislation the government is passing in the article, but the headline is 4 people writing a blog

I feel like 'Green Belt' is one of about 4 things every student in the UK remembers from Geography lessons (longshore drift, anyone?) and as such is held weirdly sacrosanct by a lot of the public

I always feel like I have to walk unnecessarily far at Chester

'Even' the local Green Party candidate is opposed as though the Green Party aren't regularly opposing climate-friendly proposals that are personally inconvenient.

The variety of lagers is quite impressive, and there actually are 6 hand pulls but all of them have a "coming soon" label draped over them. Maybe an issue with the lines. Otherwise, it's just a Greene King. Nice enough, but somewhat following a formula.

It's not bad really, don't think a Saturday here would be my scene but it's nice enough to sit with a pint and the football on. Definitely a better experience than I expected to have. Partner had a fancy watermelon-based cocktail which I had a little sip of, very nice.

We sit upstairs on the mezzanine but I have to do that annoying Wetherspoons thing where the ale I want is downstairs. No biggie, and the Thornbridge Market Porter is lovely. Can never knock Spoons for its ale selection, especially in Sheffield where a lot of the breweries that supply it are great.

There's even an ale, Old Golden Hen, which was in great condition. No pork scratchings for my other half though which is a big minus. Overall it's a nice community pub though, very family friendly and pleasant.

The layout is very different but it's just as lovely as the first one, the beer selection is great and the staff knowledgeable. Downstairs is a "games room" with pool, darts and a bandit, which seems like it'd be a good time with a group of mates.

I suppose not many people are going directly from one to the other, which can actually be done on a single bus service. I doubt we're the first.

The beer seems to be served in a random assortment of brewery pint glasses, my pint of Two by Two comes in a Triple point glass, and I can spot Vocation and Five Points glasses too, neither of which I think is on the bar. I like it, personally.

There's a good choice of cask and keg, with one of those boards that show which beers will be on next which I always like. We come on a relatively busy day, but everyone seems to look like Stephen Merchant. It must be a type.

I had Steady Rolling Man on cask (it would be rude not to), but I was struck by how cheap their house beers are - £3.50 a pint of Neepsend Blonde and £3.75 for the house lager is not bad at all for such a fancy place. It's just a shame they're only open 4 days a week.

We're sat right next to the kitchen, where delicious smells of their small platey-tapas things waft out.

The seats by the windows are great to do a little people watching of West Street/Glossop Road.
