Loving my Cosy 6 that Octopus installed in March - courtesy of the £7,500 grant.

Joined my fellow H&S professionals on a hike taking in Higher Shelf Stones (621m), pausing to reflect at the B29 and Lancaster Bomber crash sites.

It is important to me that we take time to pause, reflect, and focus on wellbeing to recharge.

11.7km with 494m of elevation.

Out in Werneth Low today, taking a short break at the summit of Idle Hill - 260m.

A bit windy!

Anyway, good to be in out Great Outdoors building up my steps as I try and rid myself of a few kg and build up my fitness to attemopt a multi-day trail in September.

Another awesome hike admiring safety signs in our great outdoors.

Oh, wandered around Torside and Rosewood Reservoirs too, and checked that there will be enough water for supplying my house this summer without a hosepipe ban - should be OK.

Enjoying the #safetysigns as I hiked around Dovestone on a lovely winter walk this morning.
Do we need signs like this in our Great Outdoors? I say no!

As part of my #PhD journey, I am widening my research into leadership beyond H&S focused articles and texts - and I think I have found the ideal book to read - encompassing my two greatest interests - all things Tolkien and H&S.

15 years ago today was my last day of 20 years service in the British Army.
12 years in the Intelligence Corps followed by 8 years in the Medical Corps was enough for me so I retired.
I was never really 'army barmy'; in reality I was a civvie who wore DPM to work.

Today's walk around Dovestone was, as usual, great. Lots of people walking their dog - seeing dogs always makes me happier - and lots of safetysigns festooning the paths! Were there too many? Yes! Our great outdoors is made better with fewer signs.
