Earlier tonight, we went out to dinner and then a spectacular New York Philharmonic concert with Augustin Hadelich playing the Barber Violin Concerto and then the orchestra performing Sibelius’s Symphony No. 2. Now it’s race car time.

Seriously, why is this loading dock area so brightly lit at 11 PM? No one is out there and they might get one late-night delivery a week.

I got a new hat this week and I’ve been wearing it everywhere.

We had our rehearsal with Rachel Lee Priday on Wednesday night and she’s incredible. It’s going to be a spectacular concert on Saturday.

It’s @actioncookbook.com’s “Big Ol’ Pot of Somethin’ Else,” sort of a gumbo-stew hybrid. It’s delicious!

Take my word for it; this thing was nasty about 10 minutes ago and now it’s nearly as clean as the day I bought it.

Who else is boiling water in their Le Creuset Dutch oven to loosen cooked-on schmutz at 11:40 PM?

I spent five hours fighting with a Cisco switch that refused to take a factory reset. I defeated that demon so I have earned a bourbon and a steak.

Good morning from the DC Metro. If I’m commuting in a different city it’s worth a photo.

This was the selection for breakfast on our food tour in Italy two years ago. Don't talk to me until I've had my breakfast wine.

Earlier today one of these dummies munched on the husks of some ears of corn that I left on a table, and regretted that decision immediately and messily. I don’t know which one it was, and they aren’t talking. But they’ve been fine since lunchtime so I guess all is well.

Tonight’s dinner: roast chicken, Brussels sprouts, and gunpowder potatoes from @actioncookbook.com. We loved the potatoes and I’ll make them again sometime.

I'm learning to play the electric bass. I played in a band for a production of Measure For Measure in August and came up with bass lines for original songs written for the show.

I just posted to FB a note about my father’s passing on Friday. Maybe I’ll share something more here later. He was a wonderful man and a great dad and I’m going to miss him terribly.
