I bought cheap rain boots on Amazon and a bike rain poncho at Decathlon a few years ago for a couple of dollars. I commute to work dressed for the destination and I have never been wet at the office.

My kid is 6 now and we did/do almost all of trips (daycare, school, sports, courses) by walking or biking. Trips are under 5 km inside the neighborhood or an adjacent one. Transit is a bit overkill for it, but bike is perfect and fun. And you get a kid that knows the city like the back of her hand.

Weird take. Why does it have to be one or the other? I ride 5k to work on my Dutch bike in jeans and a shirt. On weekends I’m on my carbon road bike in full PAS/MAAP kit. And for triathlons, yeah, I wear a trisuit.

That gave me a good chuckle, been a while since I heard that one. Foreign ownership in Canada is negligible (seriously, look it up). Montréal even banned it and, surprise, nothing changed. Downtown condos? Fully lived-in. It’s almost like people actually want to live in walkable places.

Haven’t you heard? Builders just love throwing up condos no one can afford and that never sell. They’ve got infinite money, don’t care if they make a profit, and all those downtown apartments you see? Totally empty. It’s just a giant game of SimCity with tax write-offs.

Bike lanes could expire after 6 years and a new one must be acquired to modern safety standards.

You posted something a while ago about bus stops spacing and the difference between North America and Europe. But I was not able to find it. Maybe it was a thread on Twitter?

Those are carefully selected pictures, because this island is car infested to no end
