My favourite sentence in the replies was “Except for bowling.”

So what are your proposed safeguards, James?

My response to your original post is here bsky.app/profile/phil...
1/ A bit of warning here before we’re all seduced by the practicalities of a “BritCard” digital ID. Although the tech heavy lifting may be mostly in place, the safeguards and protections for the vulnerable - particularly undocumented migrants are not.
The "BritCard" digital ID proposal is a good idea (FREE TO READ!)

Anyway, I can understand the potential ambiguity - I’m not posting any more replies here. But I think it was untenable for a landlord to oversee the progression of a renters rights bill anyway. Hopefully there are no more hiccups.

During the sale process!

Fixed term contracts would have been illlegal under the renters reform bill (previous proposal) too. During the fixed term, she should have offered the tenants a transition from the fixed term arrangement (illegal under both RR bills) to a rolling agreement.

Fix term contracts would be illegal. She used one so she could sell up, then changed her mind and rented out again within the renters rights bill fixed term - also illegal in future. Plus using that to dramatically increase the rent - new bill blocks eviction as method to increase rent.

Brilliant! Well done Chris!

Isn’t this different? Generating ai summaries is useful for lots of people - they clearly love it. But I think content algorithms have an addictive quality - more analogous to nicotine addiction.

I think part of the issue is understanding volatility, not just risk.
