Well, I have nothing on my calendar today, so what should I do?

I have a number of books in my queue as well as a couple of graphic novels, and then there's my anime queue that has been left alone for nearly a month now. 😱

I suppose it’s not possible to get a redo on the start of 2026, right?
January 2, 2026 at 2:00 PM
I think now is as good a time as any to call it day. For having spent over half the day in a mostly stationary state, today turned out to be quite the eventful first day of the new year.

Welp. That was a disappointing result, and the worst part is that this may not be the only football-related disappointing outcome I'll have to deal with this weekend.

🫣 I don't need this level of stress on the first day of the year.

Success! My resolution to eat sweets to the point of sickness has been achieved, and it only took about 19.5 hours (even less than that if you consider the fact that I didn’t get out of my bed until around 3 p.m.). 🥴

It’s all about the minor wins that build toward the greater successes. 🫠

Congratulations 🎉 to Indiana for a dominant win against Alabama and becoming the first program who has a bye in the opening round of the playoffs to reach the semifinal round!
January 2, 2026 at 12:25 AM
After Texas Tech's loss earlier today, teams who have had a bye in the first round of the CFB playoffs are 0-6.

But, top-seeded Indiana currently leads Alabama by 17 at halftime, so the streak may be coming to an end, which is a good sign for Georgia fans.

I suppose I’ve lounged around and done nothing aside from watch sports and browse social media for long enough. I have a few things to do before I park myself in front of a TV with my phone by my side again.

Let's see if № 4 Texas Tech can be the first program to get a bye in the CFB playoffs and win, they face № 5 Oregon in the Orange Bowl.

According to the odds I've seen, Texas Tech is a 2.5-point underdog. 😒

Three more CFB playoff games on the schedule today, and three more chances for the NCAA to show how poorly organized their playoff system is.

It's as though they've never organized a playoff system before, except they have at different levels and across multiple sports. 🤦🏾‍♂️

It's a winning start to 2026 for Wrexham as they take all three points in their first match of the new year; they beat Blackburn Rovers 0:2.
January 1, 2026 at 2:55 PM
Oh, look, it's a new year! 🫣
January 1, 2026 at 1:02 PM
And yet another program "awarded" with a first round bye is bounced from the playoffs. Who could have imagined that having a month or more between games could be detriment?

Oh well, congratulations to Miami winning the Cotton Bowl and reaching the CFB playoff semifinal.

Seriously, where are people finding money for fireworks?

People have been shooting fireworks around my neighborhood since the sun set.

I wanted something to do, I was given something to do, and surprise, I don't want to do it, but it'll be some extra cash in my wallet, so I'll begrudgingly do it.

I’m trying to remain upbeat, but if I don’t get my coffee soon, I’m just going to continue to sit here and whine about my wait on the internet.
December 29, 2025 at 5:30 PM
That was a hell of a match and result for Wrexham.

Interesting. I honestly didn't know, but now that I do, I will stand by the players and refuse to attend any more games until they're able to reach an agreement on a new CBA that treats the players with dignity and fairness. phpa.com/news/3213

Well, aside from a few aesthetic adjustments, I finished my grand two-week project in two days. I suppose there's more I can do—I have a whole other year I can include—but it already feels off to include items that occurred before I even started my initial project.
December 25, 2025 at 12:46 AM
I've found a new project to occupy my time during the next two weeks (or until I become bored of it or I get frustrated), and I may (or may not) elaborate on it at a later time.
December 23, 2025 at 3:03 PM
It has been a long time coming and well, I made it through. What do I do now? 😞
December 21, 2025 at 10:43 PM
I still can’t figure this team out, but for now, they’re first place in their division and control their own destiny: win out and they win the divisional title and reach the postseason. But, they’ve got Seattle next week, and then they travel to Tampa to face them again in two weeks.

Me: Well, I guess I'm done with work for the year.

It’s been an odd and tumultuous year professionally, but as it stands, I’m employed in a full-time role with benefits at an organization that is aligned with many of my personal beliefs.

From where I started to where I find myself now, I’ve come a long way, and I look forward to what’s to come.
