Agree. People are being constantly battered by one thing after another, energy/water/council tax/rail fares even pot holes but nothing to coalesce yet to create the spark at the moment plus there’s the worry over Trump/Ukraine which takes precedence/distracts.

All of this is true but it would seem govts. (including ours) are not keen to curb flying or invest enough in our railways so they provide an affordable alternative.

Air fare policy is obscene but it does enable you to travel at an affordable price which rail mostly doesn’t. Plus through booking by train is at best difficult whilst by air I can get a series of inter-connecting trans national flights at one the touch of an internet button

But this govt. is tinkering around the edges and not getting to grips with the fundamentals of electrifying our railways, (building the new East West rail without electric). We need tram systems in our major cities, etc. It’s not even investing enough in charging systems for ev’s

Given all the ultra processed food we are consuming these days much of which is made in a factory, food from a farm is possibly worth highlighting, sadly.
