White poppies were first produced in 1933 by the Co-operative Women's Guild, made up largely of women who had lost loved ones in World War One. They were worried by the growing militarisation of Remembrance events and what they saw as a detachment between the red poppy and the need to work for peace

Exactly then you can decide for yourself on whether that makes sense, or even better do an experiment to compare the two practices - although that’s harder than it sounds usually

It’s amazing how ingrained some ideas are and how few are willing to try to do things differently

The same govt spokesperson keeps responding with this joke every time the bill is criticised ‘The planning and infrastructure bill will not regress any environmental standards – it will deliver a win-win for nature and development.’ 😂🤥🤥🤥😂 please change the record!

Imagine. Although did you see the channel 4 series where a family adopted like a pet sheep for a few months and then decided whether to eat it or save it and become veggie. All bar one family ate the animal (mostly a decision by the parents)
