looks like the EU should have listened more to the French who did not think the inclusion of all eastern european states a good idea and less to the Brits who wanted maximum expansion and then legged it when it happened

European troops to 'bolster confidence', I guess means French and UK and possibly Polish and Turkish? not sure any other EU troops will be very confidence building.
An 800,000-strong Ukrainian army would provide the first line of postwar deterrence, with the US providing intelligence and monitoring, and troops from European nations stationed away from the front lines to bolster confidence.

no way! just kidding - the lesser UK universities have moved nearly all assessments to easily cheatable coursework knowing many of the students don't have the level to pass otherwise; a clamp down on universities of dubious academic quality is long overdue

Russia was on our side the last time a dictator tried to take over Europe, hasn’t Putin learnt anything from that? Russia suffered terribly and I am sure the last thing the Russian people want is a repeat of that experience.
