I hate how the older male patients and often their older male visitors call me pet names like “sweetheart”. It boils my blood. Yesterday, I had to take a couple minutes to breath after leaving a patients room because his visitor called me sweetheart when I left the room.

At the same time, I had a patient take out their IV because “the tape was pulling at [her] skin” and the other nurse in my unit had a patient try to remove their Foley catheter with the balloon inflated in their bladder and everything. We handle all the situations and nurses aren’t professionals?

Someone teens stole our pride flag and flag pole off our porch. This country is a fucking nightmare. We’ve had Harris, Pride, and human rights campaign flags fly from our home and this is the first time one has actually been taken down. Why do you think someone would feel emboldened to do that rn?

I was talking to my partner about Mormon church attendance and I grew up attending every Sunday with only missing church less than 10 times until I left the church. Were my parents incredibly strict or did everyone else grow up like that? I was taught we HAD to take the sacrament every week??

A huge part of the Mormon experience for me was liking Christian rock music, but not realizing it was Christian music because Mormons (when I grew up) only listened to hymns in church and church activity settings
