This is what the ETHICS chapter in my psychology degree's textbook had to say about the AIDS epidemic. This is what we're teaching psychologists to believe about queer history: that there isn't any.

A screenshot of an email exchange between me and someone else regarding a job application. They say: To help us review your application, could you please provide some additional information. For each of the roles on your resume, could you indicate if they were permanent or contract roles? I respond: Hi [Redacted], Most of my previous roles were hired on an ostensibly permanent basis. As I'm sure you're aware, companies are legally allowed to dismiss employees without any cause during probation periods. This is a common practice, especially during unstable periods where companies might take advantage of this legal loophole as a means of gaining short-term increases in headcount. I'm sure you're also aware that this common practice is more likely to affect people in marginalised groups. If you'd like an account of the circumstances for my leaving my previous roles, I can send you information about each of them. You can also find this information on my LinkedIn profile's experience section. I'm sure you'd note that I have never been terminated outside of a probation period, and have never been given a valid reason for it. If you'd like to hire people in marginalised groups, you may need to accept that some of them have experienced discrimination, and their lives and careers might not perfectly mimic those of more dominant groups. I'm sure I've already lost this position as yet another roll-on effect of this industry's poor practices, so I'll politely withdraw my application. I'd prefer to work someplace where assumptions won't be made about me before even saying hello. Thanks, Hazel
