Before DVDs took off I think you could get VHS tapes where they would tell you to adjust the audio to all L or R channel to hear the commentary vs the movie.

It’s called the Motte-and-Bailey and frankly it is indefensible

I had designed a website to make audio commentaries indexable and playable so fans can discover and play them along with any streaming service but I’m afraid of getting sued. Wet Hot American Summer has an all fart audio commentary track that would make all of this worth it though
