I have a lot of random interests, they just kind of happen
No Pi or basically any other necessary components until Monday at the earliest, so I spent some time looking at measurements for the parts online and put together the shell for my own little handheld. Chunky for battery purposes but I don't mind it as much as I thought I would #retro #gba #handhelds

Idk what it is with shinies in this game man. I shit you not, I caught a shiny Gogoat, then pretty soon after, a shiny Fletchling. Walked a few feet and TWO shiny Pidgey.

The next day, a shiny Venepede and alpha Whirlipede right next to each other

Yesterday in #PokemonLegendsZA I started playing and found a shiny Gogoat right away. Neat. Caught, warped somewhere, found a shiny Fletchling. Woah, that's cool! What luck! I took three steps and found two shiny Pidgey. I don't know what the fuck this was about, I swear no cheats were active

#PokemonLegendsZA is almost an acceptable first Pokemon Switch release. I'm quite surprised tbh. I wish the photo mode let you adjust the aperture though, even X and Y let you do that

I suspect some alert is going off rn on the #Wixoss backend, like "Hey the card list is being hit hundreds of times a half second apart."
That's me, finally getting a checklist of each card I have for each set that is available in markdown on my PC. I wrote a whole ass C# console app for this

Mushrooms are nice photography subjects

Can you tell how I feel about this stupid active shooter video at work?

Pro tip for mushroom photos: Go to a disc golf course. They're everywhere.

Went disc golfing last week. Found some mushrooms. I got distracted from disc golfing

Here are the best photos of the night sky I got during my trip to Maine. Fighting an anxiety attack rn so you don't get any tags, too busy not thinking

Took a trip to #Maine last week. Aside from having a flight cancelled and being forced to wait two days for the next one, it was nice #photography #landscapes #wildlife

Anemoia is the feeling of longing for a time you didn't live, a place you've never been. I would have loved to see Eland in its prime. To see the sawmill, hear the trains, watch the people getting on and off. I may have grown up in Eland, but it's not the same town.

There is so much more history in this town than I once thought. I knew it had the train and people passed through it daily. But I didn't know it was so busy, connecting to so many major cities through transfers. Eland became a town in 1881, and my great grandfather arrived in 1885.

The trains went through every day, connecting many towns and cities throughout Wisconsin. While we were looking through the depot-turned-local museum, my dad told me how my grandmother worked at a hotel, and he saw some of the buildings burning down, or how he watched the last train depart Eland

I live just outside a small town with somewhere around 200 people. Back in the 1900s, this town was bustling with activity with multiple hotels for how many people came through. The railroads built this town and it basically doesn't exist anymore. We had our local celebration this weekend

Small #gamedev update. Reworking selection still, but when an entity is selected it will display viable buttons correlating to different actions. Since it could obscure the board, it needs to be movable so I've got the actions always pointing to the selected entity

Did you know you're allowed to fly a kite as an adult? Way easier to get it into the sky too
July 23, 2025 at 6:57 PM
#GameDev update! Not really any new features but a major refactor in how selecting an entity works. Previously, the system treated selecting to be the same thing as wanting to move, so selecting to get information wasn't allowed. The enemy also couldn't place themselves. More below

More #GameDev stuff. The player and their opponents take turns placing their creatures on the board. Once they both reach their max, 3 each, the remaining creatures slide off screen and fade away. Made with #Unity

Went to see #TheCraneWives in Milwaukee yesterday! First ever concert and had a blast! What a great band!

Decided to do a slight re-edit of my favorite fox photo I've taken. Mostly just zoomed in but did some color adjustments too. What do you think, left or right?
July 9, 2025 at 5:42 PM
Did some more work last night. The game combines Pokemon's types and abilities to make attributes. Most Pokemon can't go in water, but a fish has the Swimming attribute and can. The code implementation isn't quite there, it needs to be reworked, but this is the idea #Unity #GameDev
July 9, 2025 at 1:21 PM
Messed around in #Unity yesterday. I stopped doing #gamedev for a bit around the time the new input system came out, so I didn't play with it much. It's super nice, I can see a lot of potential in that.
Anyway, making a creature catcher. All the code here feels pretty clean still too which is nice
