Unsurprisingly, the new Avatar has fantastic visuals and a ho-hum story that'll glide right off you once you leave the theater. But what did surprise me were the handful of moments where it (very gently) tried to reckon with the white savior fantasy baked into the franchise. My review:
Avatar: Fire and Ash is a gorgeous spectacle of titanic proportions
The third Avatar movie is another visual stunner.
