Excellent -- thanks!

For context: it's their debut album, but "New Orleans is Sinking" is my all-time favourite song.

Hey - saw your list (via Kevin at On Repeat) and can't find where to suggest another album from 1989. Mine: Up to Here by The Tragically Hip. (Although I'm sure this is predominantly a US audience, I'm still surprised no one mentioned it yet!)

I'm delightfully baffled that you have Daniel Lanois but not Up to Here by the Hip!

Ah yes - that sounds like something completely different! Maybe them being edgy/artsy in some way? But yeah, doesn't work if you need to backtrack. These days more than ever, you need to grab and keep attention, not arbitrarily demand *more* attention from your readers... lol

Only in the US. It lives on in Canada (just as Toys R Us does...)

It’s not uncommon in British novels. Not sure of the reasons why though…!

Very nice! Certainly seems like your style. Seems vaguely familiar, though I don't remember specifically reading it before. But then, I'm getting to that point... after reading a few thousand books or so, the mind becomes a blur... lol

Hope all is well with you!

Is that your story, Gary?

Wow, what a great resource -- thanks!

Yes, please add me to the pack.

It was a good writing sesh! When I was finally able to shut my mouth and do some work... London Fog, Paris Macarons, and sparkling pre-writing conversation. ("Close the curtain! Close the curtain!")

(More people really should come out and write with us -- we're a hoot!)

No patio today, I'm guessing... lol

See you soon!

Won't spoil it for you either, but just watched the end -- what a great speech from the winner!

The Giller night is always a kick in the butt for me to finish my own WIP. Too tired tonight after a few long work days. Definitely tomorrow though with @jmwylie.bsky.social
