I’m a full time stained glass artist and part time fair weather forager of Finnish heritage. My glass work has largely been for Churches but not exclusively. I relish the opportunity to get out into nature and create inspired by the natural world.

“Oh what’s that in the hollow”
This stained glass panel is based on a pre-Raphaelite painting by E R Hughes of the same title. The inspiration for Hughes’s work was a poem by Christina Rossetti.
This panel was made a few years ago for a local residence. It was a departure from my usual way of working. I started with the lead pattern and then introduced the imagery and paintwork subsequently. #stainedglass #traditionalcrafts #ferns

This altar piece was made quite a few years back now in the days before LED lighting took off. It’s illuminated with cold cathode tube lighting and there is no back to the lightbox which gives a pleasing glow to the wall behind.

Again, not glass. My motto for today: if your going to procrastinate, at least Procreate.

This one isn’t glass. Just me facing fun with Procreate and some forest photos

“Plumes and Prowess” was my response to the trash tv game shows that manipulate contestants affections for the delight of viewers. While drawing up these human/animalistic centaur type figures I was reminded of the lab mouse that had a cartilage human ear grown on his back. He gets a look in too.

My “Trouble in paradise “ panel explores thoughts of how the place that I go to relax and unwind is the same place that represents everyday life with all its complexities for those living there. #stainedglass #badgers #forest #art #deer #arthlass

My mother was orphaned during the winter war between Finland and Russia. During WW2 she was evacuated to Sweden. On a family holiday to the farm that took her in, our family found a pencil sketch of her. I made this small panel based on that pencil sketch. 🕊️

Live free and don’t be intimidated by the predators. This little stained glass beauty flew across the Atlantic and has a new home in Ohio State.

I do like to add mushrooms to my pieces. A bit of a recurring theme
