They/them. Queer outdoorsy nerd. ND.
My friends’ dog went to the groomers for the first time and all his head puppy fluff is gone!

It was lovely. The trail was quiet and beautiful. It’s mostly lush mossy old growth. And then at the huts there were lovely humans to interact with.

Writing from a hut in the mountains after spending the last week travelling to a remote place and hiking ~130 km. Another 1-2 days until I see a shower. Cannot wait.

Must take more time for macro photo.

Finally a sunny day, so here are some cherry blossoms, and a magnolia tree.

This was the sunniest day of the week. Looking forward to seeing the blue sky again one day. Hopefully this month.

Happy spring! The rain has been rough on the crocuses but there are still a few giving a show.

Worth getting off the couch.

Had to say goodbye to Bucky yesterday, after his kidney disease progressed more rapidly than expected.
Goodbye, friend. Thank you for a challenging and rewarding decade. You were the sweetest and most whiny dog I’ve ever known.

There will soon be a puppy in my life for which I hope to play the role of cool aunt. Look at that face!

Looks like I’m in a “need to surround myself with books” phase again. I will inevitably return to “i have too many things it’s declutter time” and return these books to the free tiny library ecosystem from which they came. All in all, a cheap hobby.

I’m comforted in my decision to live in the part of Canada with the mildest weather. The snow and freezing might be a little less annoying if there wasn’t salt attacking Bucky’s paws to avoid but I’ll be glad to see the rain for a few days.

I’ll take a nap this afternoon but it was still worth having a short walk in the forest.

Bucky is definitely slowing down but we’re still enjoying some shorter hikes.

I don’t think I ever read this many books before. The equivalent in fanfic sure but I never keep track of those.

Thank you for the recommendation. Thank you!

Trees are pretty.

All that works has made Bucky tired.

3 days camping with no access to the internet, a hammock, plenty to read, and a river to cool down. Delightful weekend.

They might be small white tapioca pearls. That’s the closest my internet search will give me.

More poppies. Good news is that first day of biking didn’t trigger a migraine, bad news is the second day did. Still, this is progress!

So many poppies!
