A friend in Minneapolis just sent me this video. Looks like thousands have come together for a vigil after an ICE agent shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good. This was my neighborhood for several years before coming to Portland.

Anyone advocating regime change in Venezuela is implicitly advocating for a long, bloody, expensive commitment—whether they acknowledge it or not. ICYMI @markhertling.bsky.social:
What ‘Regime Change’ in Venezuela Would Really Mean
It’s not clear the administration has settled on a goal, much less considered the consequences.

The pursuit of truth is a fundamental pillar of freedom not just for individuals but also for society. Jesus described himself as the truth and the Evil One as “the father of lies”. How tragic that many who claim to follow Jesus distort the truth to gain or maintain power.

“You never know how much you really believe anything until its truth or falsehood becomes a matter of life and death to you. It is easy to say you believe a rope to be strong and sound as long as you are merely using it to cord a box.” C. S. Lewis

Hope dawns. When darkness falls it’s easy to wonder if the sun will rise again. The darker & longer the night the more tempting it is to despair. It’s hard to hold hope alone. But we can hold hope for each other. Jesus is the ultimate source of my hope. Alive and present in me and in the world.
