I didn't know it took 3 litres of tap water to make 1 litre of bottled water. There's the plastic pollution associated with bottled water as well.

There are a lot of things that fascinate me in the natural world, and so I turn to science to find the answers. Sometimes, I get an added bonus, such as whilst getting 8 hours of sleep, all of us have travelled over half a million miles through space on this wonderful planet of ours.

York Minster was ringing out Christmas Carol tunes from their bell tower today. Was it a recording, or had the Bell Tower Captain got his ringers all trained up? I haven't a clue, but it sounded great.

I may be retired, but I still like to push myself physically. There are so many benefits to strength training, not least the physical and mental well-being aspect of it.

I know about Nelson Mandela. Until I visited Robben Island, I didn't know anything about Robert Sobukwe, who was incarcerated in his own compound on the island. No one was allowed to talk to him, including the guards. Time to learn more about this important figure in the anti apartheid movement.
