I like TTRPGs/OSR, miniatures, make and play the video'd games, and am very tired.
Yeah, the D&D version of this classic and well known Traveller adventure is vastly inferior

I love the small story told about voice chat. Seems like a great encapsulation of trying to implement any new tech for the first time

I feel like the last thing Bethesda should be cutting corners on is finding bugs

It's always very noticeable when someone understands the aesthetics of a religion, but not build a purpose behind them. Fantasy worlds will often have large gothic cathedrals, but no ritual equivalent to a Mass

The two immediate problems I see are 1) everyone will know exactly who voted for who; anonymity in elections is important to avoid political attacks. 2) tying voting to an online account makes it way more vulnerable than current systems. Tech illiterates will get scammed and their votes stolen day 1

@civvie11.bsky.social did a video "playing" a found prototype hellraiser game

How many false dichotomies will it take before people just accept that the play is the art

How this man's reputation as tech prophet and visionary survived the metaverse bullshit is beyond me

The thing people miss is that YouTubers don't typically get popular for having new/interesting opinions, but for repeating popular opinions back at people and reaffirming their views. If a lot of people like a game, a video angrily bashing the game won't likely change their minds

I have played both Sonic Adventure games multiple times because, despite being widely held as janky, frustrating games, sonic fans insist that they're universally acclaimed amazing games that by happenstance they grew up playing.

I can make a lot of decent pasta for $12. If that makes 4 servings (and those are big ass servings), that's $3 per meal. Are these people buying whole new kitchens with every meal?

For real, I don't know why people use resources for saves when JSON is just as easy and... isn't a resource

Edgelord behavior has always been in TTRPG spaces, because in D&D killing/grabbing loot was how you leveled up. But CAH and similar games gave people the new excuse of "it's just a joke bro" whenever they did/said something that upset people

I regularly get asked (often by people with one or all of these things) why I don't try to make a career out of any of my creative focused hobbies. The primary and pressing reason is I like eating food, actually

I think it's helpful to acknowledge a distinction between review as consumer advice, and criticism as analysis of a work. Both have their place, but aren't the same, more are necessarily interchangeable skills. Sadly, a lot of people with marginal skills as reviewers think themselves critics.

Sometimes I see stuff like this and glimpse a different, much dumber version of the internet. I haven't seen slop get thrown around much, but entire ecosystems of millions of people somehow can be relatively isolated from each other online

Also why would a presumably rational person follow obviously and cartoonishly evil orders? So unrealistic

The thing people often miss when discussing the success of any business is that the people who started it were able to make ends meet for years with 0 income.
