I don't know how to describe this feeling of ... just not realizing what everything looked like up close I guess. I don't know. There was people who, they'd die on TV, or in movies. But then you see it. And it's not a movie. It's just how things are. I don't know.

So even though I'd never go back to being six or seven years old, there's still something deeply soothing about a time in life where I just didn't know, or see, or consider, some of the things I've come to know/see/consider the last few years.

There's just less mystery about how people interact with each other. I'm not less curious, it just seems beneath everything lurks this possibility of violence. It's always a potential consequence, a potential happening. Everywhere. Not that I see it around every corner or anything like that.

I think all the time about where the limits of language start to apply to reporting and communication. I have lately worried often that this story is past those limits.

Hey — for sake of clarity, I double checked later and it turned out that they had been pepper sprayed.

A CPD officer was hit by a car in the middle of all this. A baby girl got pepper sprayed. Multiple arrests by both CPD and the feds. Hundreds of people followed this convoy up Kostner to Roosevelt on foot, in cars and on scooters.
