Was having a related discussion with my book group the other day and found this quote from André Maurois: “Any great and lasting book must be ambiguous. It is a mirror that makes the reader’s features known, but the author must seem to be unaware of the significance of his own work.”

I don’t often mix music and books, but fancied an accompaniment to tonight’s reading. James Meek’s The People’s Act of Love with Arvo Pärt’s Tabula Rasa works. I could probably soundtrack anything to Pärt.

Last year’s Good Nature by Kathy Willis is the first book to compile various sources of evidence linking green space and wellbeing. All fascinating. While nothing was necessarily surprising to me, it was great to see this presented scientifically for the first time.

Since building my library (as I like to refer to it), it’s rather difficult to get everything in a single #shelfie. I’d choose a different angle but you’d see the mess I’ve strategically hidden.

It’s also no exaggeration to say there’s double this stacked in small piles around the house…
