"Well-groomed" –Washingtonian Magazine
I still think plenty of it holds up. I can't imagine any Flipper fan being dissatisfied with this cover!

Very curious to see if this video might get a copyright strike? I'm thinking probably not? Like, I can't imagine what remains of Flipper being copyright trolls.

Looks like the Zouave is listed in every Modigliani CR, which is definitely a big point in its favor, but is undocumented before 1928, which raises all the red flags. www.secretmodigliani.com/1918-w-116.h...

Evidently Robinson's art collection was not auctioned, but was sold privately to Stavros Niarchos, and there the trail goes cold.

Do you have any "Little Marcy" albums? 😍🤮

Keep an eye out for that Heidi Pocketbook Doll album. It's killer.

Oh man, the Marc Riley EP is so good, and obviously never played. How did this obscure 1985 UK teeny weeny indie record make its way to DC?

The third section is smaller but the most thrilling: the "miscellaneous" section with albums that don't fit anywhere else. Exercise records! Religious albums! Spoken word! Demented children's albums! Ethnographic recordings! A double LP of stethoscopic canine heart sounds!

The second large section is vaguely "not rock" such as jazz, fake jazz, easy listening, lounge, Moog, instrumental pop, a smattering of vocalists, etc., with a separate section for Enoch Light's Command Records because they look so good together.

1. Yes, Fall on vinyl I didn't already have.
2. Speaking of the Fall, a Marc Riley and the Creepers EP!
3. Slave's fourth album. Such an underrated band.
4. One of the very, VERY few Martin Denny albums I didn't already have, and I have more than 30. Just never come across this one before!

It's not just bad, it is weirdly bad! That bizarre bitter grapefruit taste!

I have complicated feelings about Bob Ross. I think he's a fascinating performance artist, and worthy of all the praise he gets, but I don't think the paintings are interesting as physical objects at all. They're by-products.

Like, somehow this guy elected himself king and everybody kind of shrugged and went along with it.

I'm always fascinated by those artists who existed almost entirely within the corporate décor space, and yet did beautiful works. But then you end up with all these giant canvases piling up.... Al Held comes quickly to mind.

I would guess that it is a promised gift, then. Promised gifts don't get accession numbers (but they do get "object ID" numbers, which are different). The term "promised gift" is legally meaningless! We never show promised gifts on our website unless it's exhibition related.
