For MAXIMUM alpha, you should watch The Iliad on outdated VCR tapes. This method increased my alpha by slightly more than three!
That's right, my Beta alpha delta is pi.

That reminded me of an old joke video that I haven't thought about in years: "Watchmen: The Saturday Morning Cartoon"!

When you take the train, you don't have to worry about traffic or parking -- and you may not even notice that John Wick and Cassian are having a totally inconspicuous gunfight as they walk to the platform.

Darn, I wish I had remembered earlier that I have Fowler's Modern English Usage, which covers British English:
"It is a mistake to suppose that [none] is singular only and must at all costs be followed by singular verbs etc.; the OED explicitly states that plural construction is commoner."

"['None is'] is the less common way, particularly in educated speech, and it therefore sounds somewhat stilted. The problem is exacerbated by the unfortunate fact that some stylists and publications insist that 'none' is always singular, even in the most awkward constructions."

Even Strunk & White says that "none" can sometimes take a plural verb. I prefer other grammarians:

Yeah that's why I followed up with this. I was trying (badly) to point out that insisting on "none is" is like insisting on "than I" -- two outdated rules that don't apply any more.

(And to be clear: I have nothing wrong with "than me" — mainly because I try not to be insufferably pedantic.)

While you're being pedantic, I have a question for you: Is it a British thing to say "Clearly you're a better person than me" instead of "Clearly you're a better person than I"?

You'd think that somebody this pedantic would know that it's "Clearly you're a better person than I."

Rather than asking ChatGPT to validate my stance, I decided to check a real reference book -- Garner's Modern American Usage, 3rd ed. (Oxford UP, 2009).
