Ach bei euch auch? 🥴 Das liegt wohl am Wetter (4+7)...

This would definitely work on lichens. On the others too. With lichen its likely to be the least hassle - lichens mostly have dull texture which makes them easy to stack.

Everything glossy and translucent is more difficult (insects, moss etc.).

Adaptions were heating on my hotplate set to 85°C and not 100°C in the oven. Also shorter than in the paper because charring set in.

Extracts were prepared quick and dirty by adding a drop of acetone to a lichen bit on the slide and letting it evaporate.

This session convinced me to finally file my application to join the BLS - now I just have to find my credit card details...

Do you need to throw them out?

I reduced some of my school and university stuff I could not part with (but did not need to keep) by throwing out every second (item).

Applying the criteria from David Hills talk this would be Flavoplaca flavocitrina - yellowbrown areoles with bright yellow soredia.

You are probably right.
I will take a closer look the next time we visit the playground - and we will. It was great!

I also do not know what the key expects me to see with "purple". Thanks for the thought. I will re-visit this sample soon.

I collect the yellow ones once in a while in the hopes of finding something new.

If I take samples I almost always arrive at M. albescens here (even in the ones with more separate standing apothecia) - it might be due to a mistake of mine.

For the red one, we have lots of F. oasis on concrete. On limestone all samples with more orangeish ap. turned out to be P. rupestris. 1/
