Just had a fantastic day at South Padre Island Nature Sanctuary. If there's a better place to see and photograph many species of birds up close, I've yet to find it. We'll start with a Green Heron on the nest with 3 hungry chicks.

We're now heading South with LRGV as the weekend destination. Stopped off today in Qunitano and whilst my bird of the day was a Black-throated Blue Warbler, photo of the day goes to these fighting Grackles

The Dunnock (or Hedge Accentor to give it a posher sounding name) is often seen as a drab grey bird, but it isn't really. This was taken at WWT Caerlaverock.
